In this blog I will be sharing my artwork and inspirations and what inspires me to paint.
Most of my work has been created at The Alchemy Garden in SW France:

A nature sanctuary nestled deep in the countryside far from the sounds of roads and where the only sounds are of silence...or the wind in the trees, the cuckoo in the springtime, the woodpidgeons that call from the tops of the tall trees, the nightingales that sing through the night healding summer, the cicadas in the heat of the summer, and then the frogs song.
I would find it pretty hard not to live with nature.
Nature is my life, my muse my reason for being and that that inspires me and the place from which cometh all things.
The happiest moments of my life have been working in the soil feeling warm sun on my back and listening to the wind or the birds.
When it is warm I like to work outside under the guardian tree on a long table where I can stretch out my boards and canvases and paints.
I used to do very detailed work when I was young and specialised in Archetectural portraits and detailed pen and ink drawings but the work I do is much freer and bigger and I like to work with tecture and pigments and rollers. I have been lefthanded all my life but now when i use a roller I work with my other hand.
The Alchemy Garden has many wild orchids that you dont get too see often these days
Small but flamboyant, the bee orchid is one of nature's great mimics. Perched within the large pink sepals are petals shaped and coloured like a visiting bee. The pink sepals look like wings and there are furry, brown lips that have yellow markings just like a bee.
The deception goes further than visual appearance alone: as well emitting a female bee scent, the fake "bee" is hairy to touch.
The Bee Orchid is quite small and has a rosette of leaves at ground level. Two leaves grow up the stem as a sheath.
